Getting Innovative

Woof! woof!

Here we continue to slim down and add a platform for the front shocks.

Adolescent designs of the adjustable pedal platform.

Back to Basics..ie..(look at Cornell)

The diff has been added. Next we need to determine how it will be mounted: and if we are going shaft driven.

Again you can see the simpler structure.

Square tubing has replaced round tubing where the a-arms will be picked-up.

Steering rack and damper positioning are still to be determined(TBD).

Simplified Innovation

We are continuing to simplify the chassis; while integrating parts as they come in.

A different version of the structural sidepods has been attempted here.

Less material is used and the tubes are more efficiently incorporated into the rest of the chassis.

Overview of amendments:
1. Main roll hoop pushed forward
2. Center of body widened to
    incorporate sidepods and
    obtain stiffer chassis
3. Radiator position is roughly set

Short range objectives: 2 weeks
1. Differential placement
2. A-arm pick-up points
3. Shock positioning and layout
4. Steering rack placement
5. Adjustable pedal box integration

The pedal box/platform and assembly continues to be developed.

Almost there!!!

A model made from straws is used to obtain a physical sense of the deformation due to torsional forces.

The chassis and the entire car itself continues to evolve and take shape.

The chassis design will be finalized in two more weeks. We can then start to build the prototype chassis.
